The world’s largest trade show for consumer technology opened on January 8 in Las Vegas, and some 2700 exhibitors will be showing off their ideas for the next big thing to upwards of 140,000 industry visitors. The question is how much attention has been paid to usability in the design of the multifunction devices and systems, the hot trend at this 2007 show. The answer could determine the number of the next big things that end up as returns, an expensive problem for manufacturers and retailers alike.
