Ergoweb Inc. 02nd March, 2016
Ergoweb Inc., a leading full service ergonomics company, announced today that it has sold its ownership interests in the ErgoAdvocate software system to MSDSonline, an Actua (Nasdaq:ACTA) company. In 2012 Ergoweb and its popular ergonomics web site, ergoweb.com, teamed in a joint venture with Workplace Ergo Inc., the developer of the original ErgoAdvocate software system. The companies worked together to expand ErgoAdvocate’s capabilities and reach, a successful effort that resulted in an attractive acquisition opportunity for companies wishing to expand or grow their stake in the office ergonomics training and assessment market. Office ergonomics is a sub-specialty within the larger ergonomics market, and Ergoweb will continue to provide office solutions through it’s web site and partner company, ergobuyer.com, and will also grow its industrial and other non-office workplace software and service offerings. Gene Kay, ErgoAdvocate managing partner, will join MSDSonline, where he’ll lead their ergonomics-related offerings. “Ergonomics is increasingly recognized as a key component in the success of an organization,” said Peter Budnick, Ergoweb CEO. “Reducing injury risk and complying with OSHA and other ergonomics regulatory requirements are important drivers, but the benefits of a good ergonomics process extend well beyond there, creating measurable gains in productivity and quality, reduced absenteeism and presenteeism, and improved employee engagement, accountability and morale,” he added. “We see a great deal of untapped ergonomic improvement opportunity in manufacturing, distribution and other physically demanding work environments, and we look forward to continuing our leadership in ergonomics risk management and performance improvement solutions for industry.” Ergoweb provides end-to-end ergonomics process services through software, training and consulting, knowledge leadership, and specialized ergonomic equipment and accessories. Since it’s founding in 1995, the company has grown to become a leading one-stop source for the ergonomics market, focusing primarily on physical ergonomics issues in the workplace. The company recently released version 5 of the Job Evaluator Toolbox™, also known as JET™, a comprehensive evidence-based job and task ergonomic assessment software for industrial and physically demanding work environments.
