Scheduled Ergonomics Conferences Will Go On

Two upcoming ergonomics conferences are set to run as scheduled despite September’s tragic events.

In a September 17th letter, National Ergonomics Conference Executive Vice President Walter Charnizon states, “While we recognize that many of you will be facing difficult decisions regarding travel and other business plans in the weeks and months ahead, we have decided to heed President Bush’s call to return to normalcy as quickly as possible, and proceed wit the National Ergonomics Conference and Exposition as scheduled, from December 10-13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.”

The letter also states that scheduled speaker, newly appointed Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA John Henshaw has confirmed his plans to address the conference.

If you are unable to attend the National Ergonomics Conference in December 2001, be sure and keep your calendars open for the 5th Annual Applied Ergonomics Conference March 12-14, 2002.

The Applied Ergonomics Conference is put on by the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and will be held at the Baltimore Waterfront Marriott in Baltimore, Maryland.

Both of these conferences offer technical presentations, product exhibitions, and networking opportunities for professionals.
