More and more libraries are turning to technology to help ease the pain of checking out books for patrons, reports Salon.com.
As recently as last week, the Berkeley Public Library system began putting Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags in over half of its 500,000-item collection. Currently, reports the on-line publication, over 300 libraries world-wide use RFID tags.
