The runaway demand for smart card technology has left manufacturers and buyers deaf to expert warnings about its vulnerability. The integrity of the technology is taken as a matter of faith. A United States manufacturer of computer peripherals is confident the faith is not misplaced, and has applied ergonomics at a number of levels to improve safety for systems and users.
