JULY 7 OSHA ERGONOMICS HEARING TO BE HELD IN ATLANTA, NOTICES OF INTENTION TO APPEAR DUE JUNE 21

The informal public hearing on the economic impact of the proposed ergonomics standard on state and local governments, the United States Postal Service and railroads scheduled to begin July 7, 2000, will be held in Atlanta, OSHA announced today.

The hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m. in Conference Rooms B&C of the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center at 61 Forsyth St., S.W., Atlanta, Ga. 30303.

The due date for notices of intention to appear at the hearing has been extended from June 14 to June 21, and public comments on these issues are due no later than June 22, 2000.

Four copies of notices of intention should be sent to Ms. Veneta Chatmon, OSHA Office of Public Affairs, Docket No. S-777, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave., N.W., Room N3647, Washington, D.C. 20210. Notices also may be faxed to Ms. Chatmon at 202-693-1634 or submitted electronically through OSHA’s webpage at www.osha.gov.

Those who request more than 10 minutes for oral presentations or plan to submit documentary evidence must submit their full testimony and/or evidence to Ms. Chatmon, postmarked no later than June 27, 2000. Four copies of the materials or one hard copy and a 3
