On January 1, 2005, Ergoweb Inc. celebrated our 10-year anniversary as “the place for ergonomicsTM.” From our roots in the Ergonomics and Design group at the University of Utah’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, Ergoweb has become the first place business professionals turn to when they want to find out more about ergonomics. Whether it’s news, information, advice, software, or training and consulting, Ergoweb is the company that can help you make the right decisions in ergonomics.
Since our early days as pioneers of web-enabled ergonomics, emerging as a commercial website on January 1, 1995, Ergoweb has earned a reputation for a number of our “firsts” including:
- launching the first solely web-based ergonomics software system, the Job Evaluator Toolbox (JET) in 1995. Our JET software, which was also one of the earliest forays of any industry into web-based software, continues to be the leading job analysis software suite, with version 4.0 scheduled for release later this month.
- offering the first web-based ergonomics training program, Computer Based Ergonomics Training Course, or CBeT, in 1995.
- developing the first on-line ergonomics buyer’s guide, Ergobuyer® in 1998, and continuing Ergobuyer’s tradition of excellent service and performance by propelling Ergobuyer to a whole new level in 2005.
- publishing the first on-line ergonomics-only news service, Ergonomics TodayTM, in 2000.
In addition, Ergoweb has remained a source that professionals turn to for in-depth answers like they find anytime in The Ergonomics ReportTM, first published in 2002 and now available 24-hours a day, seven days a week on-line for subscribers. And Ergoweb Forum, formerly Ergoweb-L (1994), the longest continuously operating ergonomics discussion forum where professionals at all levels meet to discuss tried-and-true solutions in ergonomics.
Though probably best known for our web based services, Ergoweb also delivers on-site customized training and consulting services to large- and medium-sized organizations. Plus, Ergoweb has been offering regularly scheduled public ergonomics training courses throughout North America, since 1997. Courses for Spring, 2005 have already been scheduled for Park City, Utah and San Diego, California.
As Ergoweb enters our second decade, visitors to our site can look for even greater enhancements to the way we bring ergonomics online. Plans for 2005 include even more in-depth solutions in The Ergonomics Report and a continued commitment to bringing you the latest news in ergonomics in Ergonomics Today. Additionally, 2005 will also bring the launch of the latest release of our JET software, JET 4. Professionals making ergonomics purchasing decisions will find even more of what they’re looking for in an updated Ergobuyer. Plus you’ll notice enhancements throughout the Ergoweb site that will help you find answers as simply and effectively as possible.
As always, we at Ergoweb will continue to do what we’ve always done best – provide you with the latest information, answers and solutions that you’re looking for in ergonomics. And we’d also like to say “Thank You” to the 10’s of thousands of readers (more than 2000 daily readers), customers, subscribers and visitors who turned to Ergoweb over the past 10 years. We look forward to serving each of you well into the future.
