Sometimes it seems the simplest action is inaction. In ergonomics that might mean that injury rates are stagnant or possibly decreasing, productivity and quality haven’t changed, so why bother investing in that new tool? Or maybe the hesitation to act is the theory that insurance premiums are going to go up anyway, or that the department needs to stay within its budget more than it needs to find a way to pay for a new idea. Nothing ventured nothing lost, right?
