NORCROSS, Ga. – The 2010 Applied Ergonomics Conference (AEC) is shaping up to be the largest and most impressive ergonomics conference in North America for the coming year. This conference provides comprehensive and broad-spectrum education for ergonomics professionals at all levels.

The conference will be held March 22- 25 at the J.W. Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa. Early registration discounts are available through Jan. 15 saving attendees hundreds of dollars on conference fees.

The conference organizers have extended a very special offer to all Ergoweb clients, subscribers and followers: use this form to register and save 50% (save $528!). You must register by December 18, 2009, and must register for the conference and the host hotel to receive this offer.

Ian Noy, Ph.D., C.P.E., vice president and director of Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety, and Guy Fragala, Ph.D., P.E., C.S.P., senior advisor for the Ergonomics Patient Safety Center of Inquiry. Other highlights of the event include presentation of the prestigious Ergo Cup® Award, a large variety of educational tracks and interesting and informative exhibits from some of the leading corporations in the ergonomics business.

Bill Boyd, one of the conference co-chairs pointed out that no other conference provides companies around the country with an avenue for recognition of expertise and achievements in ergonomics as well as cost-effective business practices/solutions.

Boyd stated, “This will be an opportunity for professionals from a variety of specialties to discuss ergonomics issues with similar causes, effects or solutions. It will be an opportunity to share ideas between non-similar organizations. It will be a meeting venue for multisite companies or professional groups to meet together while engaging in continuing education opportunities and a networking opportunity for professionals and line workers from similar organizations.”

Tom DeRoos from Tyson Foods, another committee chair, stated, “This year there is a new effort to bring in people, professions and companies who have never heard of this conference, who could enlarge their effectiveness through attendance and who are potential speakers for this conference.”
