Risk of occupational injury is greater among manufacturing employees who have high quantitative workload, high cognitive demands and low job satisfaction according to a cross sectional study conducted by Nakata et al. of 2,210 workers from 248 small/medium sized Japanese factories. Also, high variance in workload, high job future ambiguity and high depressive symptoms were associated with occupational injury among males while low job control and high intragroup conflict was predictive for females.
