Interested parties now have until September 18, 2003 to offer their comments on the draft Ergonomics Guidelines for Poultry Processing, originally released by OSHA in June.
According to a press release by OSHA, the 45-day extension was offered because “OSHA has received several requests from interested members of the public asking for additional time to comment on the draft guidelines.” Last month the agency also extended the comment period for its draft Ergonomics Guidelines for Retail Grocery Stores for the same reason.
In addition, OSHA announced that its stakeholder meeting for the poultry processing guidelines, the third set of industry-specific voluntary ergonomics guidelines created by the agency, will be held on October 2, 2003 in Washington D.C.
Copies of the draft Ergonomics Guidelines for Poultry Processing can be downloaded from OSHA’s website at www.osha.gov. Comments and statements of intent to participate in the stakeholder meeting can also be submitted via the OSHA website at http://ecomments/osha.gov. Comments must be received by the agency by September 18, 2003.
