About Ergobuyer®, LLC
|
Ergobuyer has served as the brand name for Ergoweb's buyers guide to the ergonomics market since 1998. Historically, Ergobuyer was supported by advertisers and maintained as a service to the ergonomics marketplace. However, with a growing number of manufacturers promoting their products as "ergonomically designed", and a growing number of businesses and consumers getting confused, or worse, by such claims, Ergoweb realized that businesses and consumers needed more information and stronger protection from unfounded or dubious marketing claims.
Ergobuyer, LLC is the first and only ergonomically related product catalog of its kind. We will assist you in finding the optimal human centered product for your specific needs, while helping you avoid the fads, gimmicks - and outright frauds - along the way.
Deciding whether a product is “ergonomically designed” is not as simple as it may seem. That’s because no product, in and of itself, is ergonomically designed. It’s true.
Whether or not a product is really “ergonomic” depends on many factors, including:
- what task it was designed for;
- what specific person (or a population) will be using it; and
- how well the design matches that person/population performing that task.
If you don't understand the nuances of human centered design (ergonomics), don't worry, that's what we're here for. We're committed to being the resource of choice when you are looking for a product with real ergonomic credentials.

Ownership and Management
|
Founder: Peter Budnick
Peter Budnick recognized an immediate need for guidance, clarity and credibility of ergonomic claims among Ergoweb’s business and consumer clients. After surveying a variety of ergonomics specialty stores and catalogues, he was unable to identify a partner that could supply the expertise, content and technical support that the Ergobuyer system requires. He is therefore responding to the market need by launching a new company, Ergobuyer LLC, and re-purposing the Ergobuyer brand as a product catalog, rather than an advertising driven buyer's guide.
Budnick also felt strongly that a product catalog may conflict with Ergoweb's other business activities, and therefore funded and launched Ergobuyer LLC as a completely separate company from Ergoweb Inc.
Under an exclusive Operating Agreement, Ergoweb will act as an "incubator" for the new company. Ergobuyer LLC has licensed the Registered Trademark name (Ergobuyer®); will maintain an exclusive catalog and online store within the ergoweb.com site; and will rent office space and contract for administrative support from Ergoweb.
It is the expressed goal of each company to operate separate and independent of the other, and the Operating Agreement will be periodically reviewed to ensure these goals are being met.
Store Manager: Laura Ritter
Laura Ritter comes to Ergobuyer with a background in retail store management and a passion for the ergonomics industry. She has found that her education in physical education/athletic training and therapeutic recreation is helpful with her foray into ergonomics.
Her pursuit in developing an online ergonomics store is to provide a retail market where individuals and organizations can find the best options for ergonomics products. Her goal is to help people locate the optimum products to make their workplace safer, more comfortable, and more productive.
She is a strong believer in customer service and pledges that Ergobuyer will provide outstanding customer assistance and support.
